Looking for a Peer project (ESF, project code S20856) supports the entrepreneurship of immigrants, speeds up the admittance to education that leads to work or occupation and promotes mutual integration by organizing opportunities for the meeting of entrepreneurs and integrating immigrants.
The project was started at the beginning of January 2017 and it will be finished at the end of May 2018. TUAS and its partner organizations Brahea Centre at the University of Turku and Entrepreneurs of Southwest Finland answer for the implementation of the project financed by European Social Fund.
During the project, four intensive courses are organized besides different networking occasions for unemployed immigrants, who have finished their integration training. After the intensive course, there is a possibility to participate in guidance meetings implemented by trainers and mentors from the business world for four months. One of the primary aims of the project is to encourage immigrants to become entrepreneurs and even to continue active businesses with the support of the former owner.
Besides the trainers, the support network for the course participants consists of students in different fields, sponsor companies and immigrant background peer advisers who are initiated into their job in the project.
In addition to the things regarding working life, changes in life caused by immigration are handled and ways for coping with them are considered in peer groups.
